Welcome to Butler Farm
Butler Farm Inc. is a 50-acre horse farm located in Manorville, Long Island, New York. Started in the mid 1990's as a Thoroughbred breeding and training facility by Judson L. Butler, DVM and his wife Mona Kanciper Butler, the farm has grown and changed missions over the years. In 1999, the Butlers founded a 501 (c)(3) not for profit horse charity, New York Horse Rescue Corporation, and used their farm as the primary rehabilitation center. Due to their dedication and hard work, New York Horse Rescue has been able to help over 1,500 horses find new homes. In addition, the Butlers enjoy a reputation as honest and straightforward horsemen.

Sadly, in 2009 Dr. Butler suffered a catastrophic injury while working at Belmont Racetrack. The accident, caused by a loose galloping racehorse, resulted in his untimely death in December 2009.
Mona Butler and her children continue to operate both Butler Farm and New York Horse Rescue. The Butler Family believes strongly in helping horses. Giving back to those animals who have given this family and other families so much is an important part of the Butlers lives.

Butler Farm is home to approximately 20 horses. Most of these horses have resided on the farm for many years. However, the farm is always welcome to providing a temporary haven for horses that transition to new homes through New York Horse Rescue.
